Full-Time Opportunities
Program Data Director
As the Program Data Director, you will work closely with program directors and senior leadership to ensure thorough and standardized data collection, analysis, and reporting procedures, and that they align with and inform the achievement of our mission. Reporting to the Chief Operating and Financial Officer, you will also work closely with the external relations team to establish and meet clear goals and timelines for data needed for communication or reporting to external audiences.
Program Manager (Manhattan)
As Middle School Program Manager (Manhattan) you will work closely with NYC middle schoolers and their families in leading the first two years of their path as BTNY students and ensuring their placement into top high schools.
At Breakthrough, my identity is respected and my beliefs are shared throughout our community. Not only is the position my first experience working in a traditional full-time role, I feel affirmed in my work each week [in] seeing goals met and receiving constant feedback.
Part-Time Opportunities and Internships
High School Mentor (2023-24)
Teach Super Saturday curriculum and career-readiness workshops to one assigned grade level.
High School Program Assistant (2023-24)
Support Super Saturday operations and programs, including attendance, classroom prep, and student management.
Afterschool Math Teacher (Fall 2023)
Create and teach lesson plans for 7th grade pre-algebra afterschool classes.
Every year I’ve been with Breakthrough has just been more and more rewarding, especially with the 12th graders and helping them get into colleges. One of my mentees actually applied Early Decision to one of the other Claremont colleges and that was because I talked to her about the school and she fell in love with it. I was able to provide that insider perspective.
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
Breakthrough New York requires all employees and ongoing-volunteers with in-person role responsibilities to be “up to date” with their COVID-19 vaccinations prior to the start of their in-person role. “Up to date” entails receiving a full vaccine course and at least one booster shot if eligible. Specific deadlines and details will be communicated directly to candidates during the interview process. Candidates in need of an exemption from this policy due to a medical reason or because of a sincerely held religious belief must submit a request for accommodation as soon as possible after an offer has been made.
