Breakthrough New York coaches 8th grade students and their families in applying to high-quality college preparatory high schools across the public, private, and parochial spectrum. We are proud to share that 100% of the 8th grade class was accepted into a college preparatory high school, and 98% are enrolled for the 2021-22 school year.
Breakthrough New York prioritizes student and parent choice in our admissions process, so that students find the best-fit option for their unique learning styles and preferences. This year, the high school application process was disrupted by COVID-19, particularly with the delay of the public school admissions process. We are grateful to our high school admissions coaches who extended their contracts and increased their personal support of students and families.
We are excited to share with you the list of new enrollments for the 2021-22 school year. Notably, over 60% of students will continue in the public school system at specialized or selective high schools.
